Maili Tano and the Eyeglass ministry

Today we went to a church called Maili Tano, which means mile five in English.  Last year some of the people in our group help start this church so we decided to go back and show them that we still care.  Our goal was to encourage them just like the apostle Paul did in the book of Acts.  After he went out and started a church he would always write to them and come back to encourage them. Maili Tano Baptist Church meets under this amazing acacia tree. The people of the church were very happy to see us and the service went well.  It is amazing to think that this church did not even exist a year ago and now it is going strong.  Go God!

This Tukana elder said that the mirror was not being kind to him and that he just realized that he doesn't have any teeth! Happy to be able to see! Ahh those wacky donated glasses! This guy was a character to say the least.

I was feeling very sick on this day.  I had a headache and sinus issues.  But God gave me enough strength to help pass out glasses which was a lot of fun.  I also showed the kids the wonders of bubbles.  It is amazing how much you can communicate even when you don't speak the same language.  I am thankful that I was able to show love to these kids even though I felt terrible.

It's universal: Kids love bubbles.
