Starting (forgot the name) Baptist Church.

We met for church in front of the white building here.

Today started off with me being left at the hotel somehow.  But eventually they came back and got me, though in the confusion Paul stayed with the other group and so I ended up spending the day ministering with pastor Raphael.

On this day we split up into 2 main groups. One group went to encourage a church that was started last year and my group traveled an hour from Isiolo to this town.  Diode is one of the main leaders in the Baptist church of Kenya and he helped plan and lead our mission. He wanted us to come here because his family lives nearby.

It was quite an interesting trip getting here though.  Our driver decided to take a "short cut" down a dirt road.  It was seriously covered with the thickest dirt powder I have ever seen.  It was like a powdered ski slope.  As we drove a huge cloud of orange dust was kicked into the air.  It even came through the van door and so we had a hard time breathing.  We all put bandanas and shirts over our faces.   Then halfway down the road the van behind the one I was riding in broke down.  They think that the dust clogged up it's ventilation system.  So we pulled it with the first van to the next town, after we all got out and got completely covered in dirt.  But God has His reasons for everything.  As they drove my van on to the town they left the rest of the group to wait for a ride.  As they waited a large group of people came by to see what was going on.  It is not everyday that they see mazonggu's (white people) roaming around town.  So God reminded Greg that we were there to let these people know about Christ. So he ended up preaching to them and 50 of them believed in Jesus and asked him to be their Lord that day.  God is awesome!

When we got there they were playing volleyball.

When we finally got to the town we found people waiting for us and playing volleyball.  Once everyone got there we split up and went from hut to hut talking to people.  This area was very green and the people seemed a lot more well off as compared to the others we had talked to.  Some here even had cinder block houses.  There was a lot of coffee growing here as well.  I got to talk to several families.  I made one little boy cry because he had never seen a mazonggu before. But honestly, what can ya do about that?  As we were walking we came upon a large group of school children going home from school.  So I was able to tell them about Jesus.  It was an interesting experience because there had to be at least 50 of them.  And they were all pushing each other in a mob to see what was going on.  But in the end many of them said that they believed in Jesus.  So it was cool that God used me to speak to so many at once.
